Data Protection Rules of the Network of Aquaculture Centres in Central and Eastern Europe (NACEE)

The Network of Aquaculture Centres in Central and Eastern Europe (NACEE) is a voluntary association of institutions, organizations and natural persons involved in fisheries and aquaculture. The Network operates under its Statutes, its activities are managed by the Board.

Description of data processing: Members voluntarily provide their information when applying for membership in NACEE. Members and third parties also provide information to the Secretariat for distribution to NACEE members. Data are processed by the NACEE Secretariat.

Legal basis for data processing: Voluntary consent of the member made in the application letter or in a separate written statement. In case of data specifically sent to the Secretariat for distribution among NACEE members with an unambiguous request to this effect, such statement is not required.

Purpose of data processing: The provided data are used for identification of the Network’s members, communication through regular and electronic mail and telephone, organization of NACEE events, as well as informing members on NACEE programmes and other relevant fisheries- and aquaculture-related information.

Set of processed data: Name and contact data (address, phone, fax, e-mail, website) of NACEE members and their contact persons. When issuing official invitation letters for visa purposes by the request of a member, further data voluntarily provided by the member (incl. passport number, position at the institution) may be needed as required by the host country’s border authorities.

The data provided to NACEE are stored in a non-public database accessible only to the NACEE Secretariat. The data may only be processed by the NACEE Secretariat (President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Technical Secretary), to whom the present rules apply. Data cannot be disclosed to third parties without the specific prior consent of the data subject.

Rights of members in regard to data processing: Members can request information on the processing of their data. By request of the data subject, the data processor shall provide information on the processed data, the purpose, legal basis and duration of data processing. Members can request the correction of their data and, in case of the termination of their membership, the deletion of their data in a mail sent to the address nacee.new@gmail.com. The data processor shall comply with the request within 5 working days.

Complaint procedure: The data subject can complain to the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH) (1125 Budapest, Szilágyi Erzsébet fasor 22/c), or can turn to court under Article 22 of the Hungarian Act CXII of 2011 on the Right of Informational Self-Determination and on Freedom of Information.
